Not Taking New Clients

Whatever you are going through, your story matters. If you are experiencing the shame that silences us or are struggling to feel accepted, I would like to offer a safe space to process and embrace your story. As an Asian-American bicultural therapist, I understand the complexities of cross-cultural dynamics and have a special interest in working with women wrestling with cultural and generational issues surrounding identity. As a peace-maker, I also have a special interest in working with multicultural couples by being a calm and neutral presence. And as someone who has gone through many seasons of change, I can empathize with you if you are experiencing the challenges of adjustment and transition.

Perhaps you have tried to stay silent hoping things would get better. “I’ll be fine… it’s not that big of a deal… what is wrong with me?” are some of your inner thoughts that have kept you from seeking help out of fear of rejection, discomfort, or the unknown. Maybe you’ve even tried to do something that left you feeling hopeless. My style of therapy is to listen compassionately, confront gently, and reflect deeply. I’m interested in collaborating with you to seek positive change and explore how you can become the truest version of yourself.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine with a concentration on Japanese language and culture. Upon living abroad in Japan, I felt the need to go back to school and graduated with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Western Seminary. Over the years, I have worked in various settings doing school-based therapy, elder care in a milieu setting, crisis counseling, and private practice. Working with children, adults, elders, and couples from diverse backgrounds has given me a unique perspective to understand the needs throughout the lifespan.

I want you to know that seeking help takes courage and that there is beauty in brokenness. I am passionate about creating spaces for vulnerability, healing, and transformation. My hope is for you to come as you are and that together we can grow and shine the light on your most authentic self.
