The Bay Area is fast paced. As a result, our emotional lives and intimate relationships can often be strained. I offer a safe and confidential place to look inward and explore where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’d like to go. Each client’s concerns and therapeutic goals are tailored to specific needs.
I have experience working with individuals, children, and their families who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma and issues with relationships. I have also worked with couples on premarital issues, conflict, impasses, and communication difficulties.
In my work with clients, I draw from cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and narrative therapy orientations. I also find the practice of mindfulness to be a helpful tool when used in conjunction with other interventions. I am certified by EMDRIA in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), an integrative psychotherapy treatment for trauma and negative life experiences. In addition, as a EMDR consultant in training (CIT), I provide consultation to clinicians seeking EMDR certification with EMDRIA.
For those who seek to particularly integrate their Christian faith in their therapy work, my approach is based on gospel centered counseling.
