Kelly Pong-Der

Hello, my name is Kelly and I am an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist. My background as a cross-cultural Asian-American woman helps me to keep it real with gentle confrontation, attunement to the heart of the matter, and grace and acceptance that comes from God.

I received a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy from Western Seminary in 2014 and am trained in an integrative approach that connects psychology, Christian theology, and spiritual growth. My style of therapy is client-centered and the integration work includes family or origin, cognitive behavioral therapy, and an understanding of emotional and spiritual wellness.

My experience includes memory care support to elders with Dementia and other mental illnesses, crisis counseling at a women’s health clinic, and school-based work for social & emotional learning with children. I enjoy working inter-generationally with all ages and am specifically drawn to helping people in different life stages, including:

  • Transition
  • Re-Entry assimilation
  • Couples work (i.e.: Marriage enrichment & Prepare & Enrich assessment tool)
  • Conflict-resolution: Restorative Practices
  • Grief work

I hope that you will find a safe space that offers you the freedom to be yourself and begin to make changes towards healing. Whatever season you are in, whether you are at your highest, plateauing, or experiencing the lowest points of life, I am here to journey with you. My hope is that therapy would be a place where we can work collaboratively to address your needs. You are not alone.
