I have been a therapist at Christian Psychotherapy Services for 2 years. Prior to that, I practiced as a marriage and family therapist at the Counseling and Care Center in Singapore for 16 years. During that time I trained counselors at the Center as part of our joint Masters in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy program with the Institute of Family Therapy (London). I was also an adjunct lecturer teaching various counseling courses at Singapore Bible College. I am married and have 2 children. Our family has lived a number of years in Algeria and Oman. These cross cultural experiences enrich my understanding of the multiple levels of contexts we are nested in and strengthened my ability to hold multiple perspectives. I had extensive experience in providing therapy for missionaries and full time Christian workers.
I work with individuals and couples on various issues. My work is influenced by trans-generational as well as systemic concepts, and by an emotionally focused orientation. It is important for me to start with where the person is and to promote the understanding, acceptance, and growth of the self. It is my desire to see the integration of one’s relationship with God, with self, and with the other.
